# Getting Started with Onboarding

**Two Minutes That Shape Everything After:** When you first join, Boost Academy asks a few short questions. They are not admin for the sake of it: the answers decide which courses, recipes, and examples you get shown, so a food truck owner is not reading bakery case studies.

## Where you are right now

**Pick the Stage That Fits:**

- **Aspiring Owner**, still dreaming about opening
- **Planning / Building**, working on the concept or the build-out
- **Just Opened**, under a year in
- **Established**, running for a year or more

This one does the most work. The advice a pre-opening owner needs and the advice an established operator needs barely overlap, and it also gives context to other members when you post in the community.

## What you run

**Verticals and Concept:** Next you pick the formats you operate in and your restaurant concept. That is what filters the recipe library and the course recommendations down to things you can actually use.

## Nothing here is locked in

**Skip What You Are Not Sure About:** Every step has a **Skip for now**, and **Back** if you want to change an answer. If you are still working it out, skip it. You can set or change all of it later from your **Account** page, and plenty of people update their stage the week they finally open.
