# Doing a Full Inventory Count

A full count is the number everything else in Boost Back Office leans on. Your inventory value, your shortage alerts, and your order suggestions are all only as good as the last time somebody walked the shop and wrote down what was really there.

> A count sheet is built from your inventory zones, so set those up first.

> - [ ] Each product is assigned to the zone it physically lives in

> If a location has no zones yet, the count screen shows an **Almost ready!** card with a link straight to zone setup.

## Open the count sheet

Go to **Inventory > Count > Inventory Count**. Boost lays out everything this location tracks, split into one tab per zone.

## Work one zone at a time

The tab row across the top follows the order you gave your zones. Walk the shop in that same order every time and you never have to wonder whether you already did the back fridge.

1. Pick the zone you are standing in.
2. Enter what you actually have in the **Count** box next to each product. The unit sits right beside the box, so you are always counting in bottles, pounds, or bags rather than guessing.
3. Move to the next tab and keep going.

> Your entries are held for six hours while you work. A count you start before the morning rush is still waiting for you when the rush is over.

On Pro locations an **Expected Inventory** column sits alongside your entry, showing what Boost thinks should be on the shelf and how much of that ingredient has already been counted in other zones. It is the fastest way to catch a number that is off by a decimal point.

## Confirm before it counts

**Submit** never posts on the spot. Boost checks your work first and shows you the **Submit Inventory Counts** dialog.

- If anything is still blank, the dialog lists exactly which zones are short and how many items each one is missing, and the only way out is **Cancel**. A half finished count can never quietly become your new on-hand truth.
- When every item has a number, that same dialog offers **Submit**, and confirming posts the count to the ledger.

> Submitting posts the count to the ledger and resets on-hand to what you entered. Finish the shop before you confirm.

## What you should see

Once you confirm, the new numbers become your on-hand truth: **Estimated Inventory Value** on the Operations Dashboard refreshes, **Last Full Count** shows today, and your shortage alerts start measuring against reality instead of a guess.
