# Doing a Limited Count on the Tablet

For the one syrup that keeps running out, or the item somebody missed on the sheet, a limited count on the tablet takes about a minute right where the product is.

## Pick what you are counting

Open **Limited Count** on the tablet.

Choose the ingredients you want to count, enter what you have, and submit. Only those ingredients are touched; everything else keeps the numbers it already had.

> \[!IMPORTANT]
> A limited count ignores zones. Boost records one number for the whole location, so count every place that ingredient lives before you submit, including the back storage you would normally count as its own zone.

## When to use which

| Situation                         | Use                                                                  |
| --------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Weekly or monthly full stocktake  | Full count, zone by zone                                             |
| One ingredient looks wrong        | Limited count                                                        |
| Several things look wrong at once | Full count. That pattern usually means the whole picture has drifted |

## What you should see

The ingredient you recounted back in line with the shelf, and the rest of your inventory untouched.
