# Logging Equipment Temperatures

Temperature checks happen on the floor, so they belong on the tablet. Take the reading, type it in, and the record is filed before you have put the probe away.

## Record the reading

Open the temperature log on the tablet. Your equipment is listed with the check points your manager set up.

Enter the number you actually read for each piece of equipment. That is it: the reading is stamped with the time and who entered it, and it appears in the office on the **Temperature Log** report.

> Record the reading you saw, not the one you expected. A log full of numbers that are always comfortably in range is worth nothing to you and nothing to an inspector.

## When a reading is out of range

Equipment set up in the office carries a safe range and a corrective action. If your reading falls outside the range, follow the corrective action on screen, then report an issue so the repair gets chased rather than remembered.

> Check at the same points every day, ideally opening and closing. A gap in the log reads as a gap in the checks, because that is exactly what it is.

## What you should see

Every piece of equipment logged for the shift, with readings that fall where you would expect and anything out of range already reported.
